Ninety-five years ago, the Woman’s Club of Ocoee formed to advance the social, civic, educational and moral welfare of Ocoee and the vicinity. Today, club members continue carrying out that purpose.
To celebrate the occasion, the club held a birthday luncheon Saturday, March 2, at the clubhouse, which is listed on the National Historical Society Registry.. The event was chaired by Nancy Chancey and Sue Lowrie.
Following the lunch portion of the get-together, employees of Upscale Thrift Store, in Ocoee and Winter Garden, modeled attire from their shops, and a purse auction was held. Proceeds are used in the community and for local scholarships.
