On a cool, breezy night at Heller Bros. Ballpark, West Orange (6-2) took out Apopka (4-7) in a hard fought 5-2 win on Wednesday, March 28.
After going down 1-0 in the first, the Warriors would respond in the second behind a Wyatt Moore RBI single. The Warriors would follow up that run with two in the third (an RBI from Anthony Garcia and a run that scored on a Camden Gay groundout) and two more runs in the sixth (an RBI double by Ricky Reeth).
Despite allowing a late, seventh inning run, pitcher Jonathan Russell would finish the night going six innings — giving up only two runs on three hits, while striking out five.
Next up for the Warriors will be a home matchup against the Bay Tornadoes (4-6) on Thursday, March 28.
