It was an afternoon of mixed results for the Olympia water polo teams, as the girls were defeated in a tough 8-6 loss to Winter Park, while the boys won in a 15-5 blowout on Thursday, March 28.
Despite a difficult first half for the girls side, which saw Olympia go into the third quarter down 6-2, a spurt of four goals (two from Shoshana Scanlon) helped put the Lady Titans (19-4) within striking distance before time ran out. Scanlon would finish with three goals on the night.
In the follow up match for the boys team (22-1), Olympia came out of the gate swinging as the Titans built up a 12-2 lead through the first two quarters of play — thanks in part to Touma Mack, who scored three of his four goals in the first half.
Both teams will play next Tuesday, April 2, against Seminole at the YMCA Aquatic Center.
