West Orange Habitat For Humanity held its annual Rock the House fundraiser in Winter Garden, and guests arrived in all sorts of costumes and attire. Tables were filled with cowboys, superheroes, gangsters, cartoon characters and more.
The event raised funds so Habitat can continue building homes for the less fortunate in West Orange County.
Speakers included Orange County District 1 Commissioner Betsy VanderLey, Habitat President Alberto Herran, homeowner Cheryl Postell and future homeowner Vaquada Bradford.
Each table was judged in various categories, and the judges declared the winners: in the Sports category, Miller’s Ale House for House of Football; Pop Culture, SeaCoast Bank for Superheroes; Generations, Orange Technical College – Westside; Favorite Places, Ameriprise for Roarin’ 20s; TV and movies, Observer Media Group for Country & Western; Hilarity, Pam Billue and friends for Fifty Shades of Gray Paint; and the overall winner, Derek Morgan for Meet the Flintstones.
