The early season struggles for the West Orange girls soccer team continued Thursday, Nov. 14, as the Warriors fell 1-0 to Edgewater.
For most of the game the Warriors (0-3) and Eagles (2-0-1) were bogged down in the midfield, with chances on goal coming rarely.
It wouldn't be until the second half when the first real scoring opportunities came for either team, with the Eagles capitalizing off a free kick with 20:05 left in the game. The ball sailed into the box where Edgewater's Kailey Scott whiffed on her shot, before Ovella Ariail finished the job with the game's lone goal.
The loss dropped West Orange to 0-3, but the Warriors will have some time to prepare as they do not have another game until Tuesday, Dec. 3 (against Jones).
