Stories of the forgotten Women’s Land Army of World War 2 were center stage on Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the West Orange High theater as the school’s drama students presented “Lilies on the Land.” The production was a historical-narrative play that tells first-hand accounts of members of the Women’s Land Army in Britain. The WLA was a British civilian organization created during World War 2 that recruited women to work in agriculture to replace the men who were called to war.
