Westpointe, Keene's Crossing teachers among districtwide finalists

Two West Orange-area teachers have been named 2019-20 Teacher of the Year finalists.

Orange County District 4 School Board Member Pam Gould posted a list of the district's finalists for Teacher of the Year, Support Person of the Year, Assistant Principal of the Year and Principal of the Year on Thursday, Oct. 24. 

Jennifer Drone from Keene's Crossing Elementary and Rebecca Wesolowski from Westpointe Elementary are among the five districtwide Teacher of the Year finalists. 

According to Orange County Public Schools, the Teacher of the Year award "recognizes and honors the contributions of outstanding classroom teachers who demonstrate a superior capacity to inspire a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities." Whoever wins Teacher of the Year would represent Orange County at the state level to compete for Florida Teacher of the Year.
