The Garden Theatre in downtown Winter Garden has been at a standstill the last 10 weeks, as the coronavirus pandemic has continued on.
But now, after cancelations and hardship, there is a plan in place for the organizations’ 13th season, which will start up at the end of August.
“Even throughout these uncommon times, we strive to bring you the best of live theatre while keeping you and our performers safe,” the organization said in a press release. “After much deliberation, the Garden Theatre staff and Board have finalized the changes that will be made next season, including date changes, physically-distanced seating, and a show replacement.”
In order to keep patrons safe, the Theatre said it would reduce tickets sold for each showtime for its productions of Hello, Dolly!, Ugly Lies the Bone, Matilda the Musical, A Class Act and A Raisin in the Sun to allow for proper social distancing. The Theatre said it would return to full seating for its production of Beauty and the Beast — which starts in April 2021.
