With the help of their chapter advisors, members of the National Elementary Honor Society at Oakland Avenue Charter School facilitated a campuswide mock vote on Election Day.

Students in all grade levels had the opportunity to register to vote and then cast their ballot. Students enrolled in the OACS@Home program voted electronically. Students even received “I Voted” stickers, courtesy of the Orange County Supervisor of Elections.

At the end of the day, NEHS members collected and tallied the ballots, which resulted in the following: 22 votes were cast for write-in candidates, 179 votes for Joe Biden, and 228 for Donald J. Trump.

This was the second successful mock vote conducted at OACS and students learned about the rights and responsibilities associated with voting.
