Big scoring nights for Kanye Jones, Trey Moss and Sean Stewart helped lead Windermere to a 75-65 win in its preseason opener against Boone at the West Orange Dome on the campus of West Orange High Tuesday, Nov. 17.
The game — which was sandwiched between Evans/Osceola and West Orange/Bartow — was tight all the way through, as the Wolverines and Braves looked to workout kinks before the start of the regular season next week.
Boone took an advantage early, and was even ahead 14-12 at the end of the first quarter, but Windermere rallied back and would take a narrow 39-37 lead into the half. The Wolverines would pull away late — after fending off a Braves' rally that saw the game get to within three points — and take the 75-65 win.
The Wolverines were led by Jones' 29 points on the night, while Moss and Stewart each racked up 19 and 17 points respectively.
Next up for Windermere is its final preseason game against Bartow Thursday, Nov. 19. The game will take place at the West Orange Dome, and tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
