Windermere Prep was dealt a tough 37-22 loss to Lake Highland Prep in the Lakers third game of season Friday, Oct. 17.
The game — which was an early afternoon kickoff — saw the Lakers (1-2) jump out to a 7-0 lead in the first quarter when quarterback Zane Fullmer hit Mason Williams on a long touchdown pass to help make it 7-0 with 2:24 left in the opening quarter. Then, things got challenging for the Lakers.
Over the next two quarters the Highlanders (2-1) scored 24-unanswered points before Windermere Prep was able to respond in the fourth quarter when Fullmer connected with Jacob Lowe to cut the Lakers' deficit to 24-14. The comeback would end there, as the Highlanders reeled off back-to-back touchdowns before the Lakers had a chance to respond with the last score of the game.
Windermere Prep will return to action Friday, Oct. 23, when the Lakers travel to take on Trinity Prep.
