On Friday, Dec. 10, the West Orange Chamber of Commerce honored its members through a celebratory brunch.
The brunch, hosted at the Ocoee Lakeshore Center, kicked off at 11 a.m. and attracted organizations and members from all parts of the West Orange community.
Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, Orlando Health and Chase Bank were only some of the plethora of organizations that made it out to the event.
An assortment of breakfast entities was laid out buffet style for participants to indulge in, catered by Table Top Catering. Members loaded up hefty plates filled with eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, pastries and freshly cut fruits.
Members took their weighted plates to their organization’s table which was decorated with holiday decorations. Participants indulged in mimosa and opened donated gifts from local businesses.
The WOCC began the brunch with a brief chamber meeting where Chairwoman of the WOCC Board of Directors Camille Evans from Virtus LLP welcomed guests and introduced the new Chairman for the WOCC Board of Directors J.T. McWalters from the Orlando Magic.
McWalters gave a brief speech and then welcomed new board members including Brian Wetzel from Orlando Health.
Outgoing board directors were also honored at the event including Dawn Willis, Rob Berens, Rob Maphis and Derek Bruce.
The event went on to include a variety of exciting news and information including the showcase of the new WOCC logo and the honoring of members of the West Orange Foundation, whose mission is to enrich the community, with check donations.
Amy Pryor called out names throughout the event for those who placed their business card in a bowl at the beginning of the event and won donated prizes from member organizations.
Perhaps one of the most heartwarming moments of the brunch was when Evans helped to surprise President and CEO of the WOCC Stina D’Uva for her 20 years of service at the chamber with a custom award.
The WOCC announced that it is excited for the new year and has several events coming up that are not to be missed.
