The Oakland Town Commission will hold back-to-back meetings tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 9, at the Oakland Meeting Hall, 221 N. Arrington St.

At the 6:30 p.m. work session, the Town Commission will discuss two concept plans: one for a pedestrian crossing and another for Sadler Trail.

The regular Town Commission meeting starts at 7. The agenda includes two presentations — the retirement of K9 Chase and promotion of Cpl. Curt Crews — and the second public hearing of a dedicated road right-of-way.

The consent agenda will include the following: an alcohol exception for an event at the Oakland Nature Preserve, town manager compensation, the appointment of several committee members, a septic-to-sewer grant, easements for the Tractor Supply project, a piggyback contract for HVAC at Oakland Avenue Charter School, and the manager’s report.

Both meetings can be attended in person or virtually. For information on joining the Zoom meeting, call Town Hall at (407) 656-1117 or visit the town website, oaklandfl.gov.
