The Ocoee Knights' 6-3 preseason win over Real Life Christian Academy on Tuesday, Feb. 9, may not go into the regular season record, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a special night.
Since Ocoee High opened in 2005 the program had played only day games — as the field had no lights — but Tuesday night's baseball matchup was the first ever to be played under the newly installed lights at the school.
The Knights started the game off with the game's first score, as Zale Lugo brought in Tyrell Williams with an RBI single to put Ocoee up 1-0. The two teams exchanged runs — with Williams hitting an RBI single, scoring Connor Bent — before the Raptors took a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning.
Ocoee wouldn't waste anytime on making its comeback, with the Knights reeling off four runs in the bottom of the inning. The rally started with an RBI triple by Alex Gonzalez, who proceeded to score on his own on a passed ball to give the Knights a 4-2 lead. After Zack Allen scored on a fielder's choice, and Williams picked up an RBI double to score Branden Steele, the Knights had their 6-3 lead.
The Knights will begin their regular season schedule next week.
