The Foundation Academy girls basketball team bowed out of postseason play with a 64-38 loss to City of Life Christian Academy in the Class 2A, Region 3 final Friday, Feb. 19.
After a close first quarter of play, the Warriors (14-6) stretched out their lead to double digits before going into the half up 29-18. A big part of the first-half points for the Lions (15-8) came from freshman guard Zoe Sedo, who scored 11 points in the half. Sedo would go on to rack up a game high 26 points on the night — making up 68.4% of the Lions total points — while also recording six rebounds and a steal.
Along with Sedo's explosive night, Zoe Corjay added seven points and Landry Wolverton picked up six rebounds for the Lions.
In the second half the Warriors would pull away thanks to a balanced offense that saw seven players score five points or more, while the Lions struggled against the size and speed of their opponents before falling 64-38.
Despite the loss the Lions end their season following a deep run through the playoffs and winning the district championship for the second year in a row.
