Orange County Public Schools is gearing up to replace static school marquees with new, digital ones districtwide.

Lauren Roth, senior manager for OCPS facilities communications, said digital marquees are being installed at each school as long as they are permitted by code. The aim is to improve community engagement.

"This allows schools greater messaging flexibility, easier operation for staff – regardless of weather – and less maintenance in the long run," Roth said.

Marquee replacement at the district's high schools have been completed, and the process is almost complete for all middle schools. Roth said marquees at the district's 102 elementary schools will be finished during this calendar year.
