Last week the Foundation Academy celebrated the joy of reading with a unique book event.

The "Read S'more Books" event invited families to shop the book fair for exciting stories to take home.

Each purchase at the book fair helped raise money for new school library books.

The school raised over $1,000 at the event.

Parents were also offered an opportunity to take a tour of their child's classroom to check out the things they have been working on this year.

"It was exciting to see the students light up as they showed off their work," Lakeside Principal Amanda Donaho said.

The night then concluded with s'more making, where students and parents enjoyed roasting marshmallows around a small fire.

"The most amazing part of the evening was watching the Lakeside families fellowship together," Donaho said. "Partnering with families and the church to build a firm foundation for life through Christ-centered education is the heartbeat of our school.  Events like this help to solidify what we strive for each day."
