West Orange High School Principal Matt Turner will be hosting an assembly for students and parents today, Friday, Oct. 1 with the help of Victory Clubs

The assembly will be hosted at school in the auditorium for students and is voluntary.

Turner said the event is being hosted to support Orange County Public Schools' commitment to students' social and emotional well-being.

"We hope you will encourage your students to be an active participant during this event," Principal Turner said.

The assembly is in partnership with Victory Clubs, a program that empowers parents, educators, and communities to build a drug-free youth.

Speaker Michael De Leon will attend the assembly and motivate attendees to make positive choices with his personal insight, encouragement and life skills.

The assembly will also be available later in the day for parents. Parents can meet in the school's auditorium before the homecoming football game at 4 p.m. to hear the same presentation.
