The Town of Windermere recently announced the tree trimming that will be occurring in the area throughout the fourth quarter of 2021.

The announcement for the Quarter Four Duke Energy Tree Trim came in a news release from the town earlier in the month.

“Crews will be pruning trees along electric lines located within the Town of Windermere’s municipal boundaries," Duke Energy said.

According to the release, the crews typically start at the substation and work their way out or down the line.

"The tree crews will be cleaning up all debris associated with our maintenance activities," Duke Energy said. "As a reminder, debris resulting from storm damage or other events unrelated to our maintenance activities is the responsibility of the homeowners."

Duke Energy also added that part of the pruning activity will occur on lateral lines, some of which will require climbing in rear lot areas.

Trees are a leading cause of power outages, according to the energy organization. Duke's tree care practices can help minimize outages during storms.
