The community is invited to the Oakland Nature Preserve from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, for an open house and a chance to experience all the preserve has to offer.

The event will include animal interactions, native plans sales, presentations and guided hikes. Guests can try their hand at archery and visit the many booths that will be set up. Hot dogs and drinks will be available for a donation.

ONP has received a challenge matching grant for its environmental education programs and is hoping to raise $10,000. To make a donation, visit OaklandNaturePreserve.org or make checks payable to Oakland Nature Preserve and mail to P.O. Box 841, Oakland, FL 34760; write Challenge Match Grant on the memo line.
