Windermere High School mourns death of student

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes invites students to honor Jaiden Simmons in prayer at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at the school's flagpole.

Windermere High School senior and women's flag football team captain Jaiden Simmons died Thursday, Aug. 11. 

"Our program is heartbroken by the loss of one of our seniors and team captain today," the Windermere Wolverines Flag Football posted on Twitter. "Our thoughts and prayers go out (to) the Simmons family. An amazing young lady, leader and role model, who impacted the lives of many within our program and countless others across the campus."

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes invites all students to honor Simmons in prayer at 6:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at the school's flagpole.
