1. West Orange High School alumnus and Winter Garden native Dexter Williams has officially returned to the Green Bay Packers after signing with the team Wednesday, Aug. 10. Prior to returning to the Packers, Williams most recently played in the USFL as a running back for the Philadelphia Stars. He is looking forward to playing with the team that initially drafted him as the No. 194 pick in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. 

2. The Orlando Area Rowing Society will host its open boathouse event from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at 2457 Maguire Road, Windermere. 

3. The West Orange High School girls varsity golf team is getting ready to begin its fall season at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, with a home conference game against Windermere High School.

4. The Ocoee High School girls varsity volleyball team is getting ready to begin its 2022-23 season with an away conference game at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, against Apopka High School. 

5. The Horizon High School boys and girls varsity cross country teams are getting ready to begin their season at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Lake Mary High School.
