The town of Windermere is continuing its efforts to create a healthy and sustainable community with an event this weekend.

The town's Lake Cleanup Day encourages neighbors to come together and gather trash in order to keep it out of Windermere's lakes.

The event, perfect for the whole family, will begin at Fernwood Park at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20, where residents will gather supplies.

The town is recommending attendees to wear closed-toed shoes for the walk.

Fernwood Park can be found at 632 Butler St.
