Police have arrested a 56-year-old Windermere man they believe was taking pictures up women's skirts at a local Publix supermarket.

John Mehalovich was arrested by Orange County Sheriff's Office sex crimes detectives on Wednesday, March 16.

Mehalovich is being charged with possession of child pornography, video voyeurism, stalking and battery.

Detectives report the man used the camera on his cell phone to record video under women's dresses on several occasions.

Investigators were called to the Publix located at 13450 Summerport Village Parkway after a woman said she caught the suspect taking video up her dress on Sept. 12, 2021.

Mehalovich would place the camera at the bottom of a grocery cart and follow the women around while they shopped, according to OCSO.

The Windermere man was previously arrested for prowling and video voyeurism in May 2021.

On Jan. 17, deputies stated they spoke with Mehalovich who allowed them to search through his phone. The deputies found several photos up women's skirts in a "hidden" folder and later found images of "violent sexual acts against children."

The man is currently booked in the Orange County jail.

Detectives are continuing to investigate and want to know if there may be other victims.

Anyone with information is asked to call (407) 836-4357.
