Passenger dies in Ocoee crash

The accident happened early Thursday morning on Wurst Road.

The Ocoee Police Department responded to an early-morning crash on Wurst Road at Jamela Drive in Ocoee Thursday, May 5.

The single-vehicle traffic crash occurred at around 1:30 a.m.

The driver, who was not named, was traveling westbound on Wurst Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a power pole and storage building wall. Police said the driver sustained severe injuries in the crash and was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center. According to police, the passenger, also unnamed, died at Health Central Hospital – Orlando Health.

The Ocoee Police Traffic Homicide Unit is actively investigating this incident.
