CDPA brings home gold

Dancers participated at the 50th anniversary of the Stone Mountain Scottish Highland Games.

Dancers from the Centre for Dance & the Performing Arts took top awards at the 50th anniversary of the Stone Mountain Scottish Highland Games Oct. 15-16. More than 20 dancers and their families traveled to the event representing the West Orange community as students of CDPA. Some highlights of the weekend were the overall choreography 1st place winner, Allison Williams, and top studio and highest aggregate points as a school. Every dancer placed in at least one event, and many brought home overall trophy awards, medals and advancement stamps.

Amy Quesinberry Price

Community Editor Amy Quesinberry Price was born at the old West Orange Memorial Hospital and raised in Winter Garden. Aside from earning her journalism degree from the University of Georgia, she hasn’t strayed too far from her hometown and her three-mile bubble. She grew up reading The Winter Garden Times and knew in the eighth grade she wanted to write for her community newspaper. She has been part of the writing and editing team since 1990.
