West Orange defeated the Ocoee Knights 41-17 to win the district championship for the third consecutive year Tuesday, Nov. 1.
"This is the third year in a row that we have won the district championship, so it is very exciting, because that's the first time in school's history that we've won the district championship three years in a row," the Warriors' head football coach Geno Thompson said.
This also is the third year the Warriors win the three rivalry games in the same season: the Backyard Bowl against the Olympia Titans, the Ol' Orange Crate game against the Dr. Phillips Panthers and the Battle for the Shield against the Ocoee Knights. The team had previously won the three games in 2015 and 2021.
Currently, West Orange is the No. 1 seed in the region and will host the first game of the playoffs next Friday, Nov. 11. Team standings will be released Sunday, Nov. 6.
The Warriors will travel to Osceola Friday, Nov. 4, for the last game of their regular season.
