County issues lake advisory

All boat ramps in Orange County are closed, and officials are asking people to stay off the water until the storm passes.

Orange County is issuing a precautionary lake advisory due to Hurricane Nicole. Keep boats at idle speed and be cautious of submerged and floating structures. The purpose of this advisory is to protect public health and property. Contact [email protected] for more information.

All public boat ramps under the control of Orange County currently are closed. Citizens are being asked to refrain from any recreational activity in the waters and refrain from any contact with water bodies until further notice.

Once the storm passes, the ramps will remain closed until Orange County Parks and Recreation Division conducts an evaluation for each ramp. Contact [email protected] for more information.

All county-operated Green PLACE properties currently are closed. Once the storm passes, the Orange County Environmental Protection Division will evaluate each property for reopening.
