The Ocoee High School football team earned its victory over the West Orange Warriors with a score of 29-28 the night of Friday, Nov. 18.
Despite losing to West Orange 41-47 on Nov. 1, the Ocoee Knights got their revenge on the football field tonight, posing a strong offensive threat from the beginning of the game as they scored their first touchdown at the end of the first quarter.
The fourth quarter of the game ended in a tie between both teams, with a score of 21-21. During the extra time, the Warriors reached the opposite end zone first to take the lead 28-21. However, with only second left on the clock, Ocoee was able to pull a rushing touchdown to bring the score to 27-28. To end the game, the Knights capitalized on a rushing 2-point conversion that ultimately, put them in the lead 29-28.
Ocoee will face East Lake Friday, Nov. 25, during the final round of the Region 2 playoffs. The winner of that game will become one of the final four teams that will have the opportunity to continue their battle for the state championship title.
