West Orange High School Homecoming Parade taking place this week

The annual event, originally scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 27, was canceled due to Hurricane Ian.

The highly anticipated West Orange High School Homecoming Parade has been rescheduled for this week. 

Students, faculty, clubs and organizations will take to the streets of downtown Winter Garden to show off their school spirit at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 11. 

The city of Winter Garden has announced there will be temporary road closures on Plant Street from 2 to 7:30 p.m. the day of the event. 

The parade, which we told you was canceled due to Hurricane Ian here, was originally set to take place on Tuesday, Sept. 27. 

The school's Parent Teacher Student Organization announced the cancellation on its Facebook page on Monday, Sept. 26. 

"Thank you to all our clubs and organizations for singing up," the organization wrote. "We were hoping it could take place. Fingers crossed, we get to have some of the other events this week. We will be in touch if anything else changes."
