Ocoee City to discuss two annexation and rezoning projects

Both properties are currently receiving potable water connection and service from the City of Ocoee but are not located within the city limits.

The Ocoee City Commission will hold its next regular City Commission meeting at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday,  Oct. 18. 

The consent agenda includes the approval of the townhomes at the Ocoee Village Center and the approval for the purchases of the 2022-23 budget vehicles and equipment the city purchases through various competitively bid annual contracts. 

The commission will perform the second reading of ordinance of the following items:

  • Ocoee Landings mixed-use building amendment: This amendment consists of 51,680 square feet, including 8,000 square feet of retail space on the first floor as well as 1,757 square feet of apartment leasing space and four apartments. The second and third floors will contain 42 apartment units of one to three bedrooms. The total number of apartment units for the proposed amendment is 46. 
  • Isaak Malka Property: Located at 2199 West Road, the applicant is proposing to annex the property into the city, as well as change the future land use map designation from low density residential to high density residential. 
  • Rodriguez/Torres Property: the property is currently occupied by a single-family unit and as a condition for receiving potable water connection and service from the city, the applicant is annexing into the city limits. 
  • Persaud/RAMA Communications, Inc.: the property is currently occupied by a single-family unit and as a condition for receiving potable water connection and service from the city, the applicant is annexing into the city limits. 

The commission also will perform the public hearing for Family Dollar/Dollar Tree located at1531 East Silver Star Road. The applicant is requesting approval to allow an additional 80.08 square feet of sign area in order to install two signs.
