The town of Oakland is a Tree City USA, so it’s only fitting that it opens an art exhibition called “Among the Oaks” and centered around a tree theme.
The Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center at the Town of Oakland invites adult and youth artists to submit 2D art of all media types, including photography, of trees of all shapes and sizes, in all environments.
The deadline to submit artwork is Monday, Oct. 31. If artwork is accepted, the drop-off will be between Nov. 8 and 10.
Exhibition will be on display starting Nov. 11 and running through Jan. 6 at the arts and heritage center, 126 W. Petris Ave. An open house/Meet the Artists event will be held during the town’s Santa's Lane community event Dec. 3.
