The Horizon High School boys and girls bowling teams participated in a facility clean-up community service project Tuesday, Sept. 13, at AMF Kissimmee Lanes.
According to Athletic Director Scott Drabczyck, every sports team at Horizon is responsible for participating in at least one community service project a year.
This particular project originated from the bowling team members after they recognized the need to bring a beautification project to the parking lot of their home bowling facility and its surrounding areas.
“I am very proud of the effort our players made to serve their community and help to make our athletic facilities look their best,” head bowling coach Mell Rupp said. “Overall, it was a productive and rewarding experience.”
According to the Horizon High School Athletics website, 13 students were able to dispose of 20 garbage bags after cleaning up the parking lot and surrounding areas of the Hawks' home bowling facility for about two hours after practice.
Participating teams were Horizon High School and Celebration High School.
