Mechanical Services of Central Florida, Inc. is inviting the community to a golf benefit in support of Frontline Outreach, Inc.

Frontline Outreach provides a "safe haven where community youth and their families participate in programs and activities that promote leadership, entrepreneurship, academics and the discipline essential to succeeding on the world stage," according to the nonprofit's website.

MSI's annual golf benefit event will commemorate the organization's business anniversary while also celebrating its commitment to serving the community by raising money for Frontline.

Bill Dillard, golf benefit founder, said sponsorship for the event is by the organization's old company, EMCOR Mechanical Services, who will cover 100% of the costs of putting on the benefit, so that every dollar invested in fees and sponsorships goes to Frontline and Legends Academy Charter School.

The founder said money raised will benefit close to 400 students and teachers at the school.

"We initially got involved with Frontline Outreach through a customer of ours in 1984," Dillard explained. "Frontline was then operated by C. R. Smith and his wife, Estelle. At that point we focused on getting all of the air conditioning in the building in operating condition. Once we completed that work we decided to change our customer/vendor golf event to a benefit for Frontline, who at that time was focused on early childhood development programs similar to Head Start. From day one, we covered all costs so that Frontline received 100% of the 'investments' that our customers and vendors made towards the event. Our first year we raised a little over $5,000."

The founder said the organization's goal this year is $200,000, which will put MSI over the $2 million mark for investments made for Frontline and Legends Academy by the event.

Advanced registration is required for the event and the deadline to sign-up individually or with a team is Friday, Sept. 23. Sponsorship packages are also available.

For more information or to sign-up, contact Mary Cleveland at [email protected] or Dwight Mitchell at [email protected].

The event will tee off at 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 30, at the Orange County National Golf Course in Horizon West, 16301 Phil Ritson Way.
