Oakland leaders voting on final budget tonight

The Oakland Town Commission meets at 6:30 p.m., followed by the regular town meeting.

The Oakland Town Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, to vote on its tentative millage rate and tentative budget for Fiscal Year 2022-23.

The regular town meeting will follow at 7 p.m., and the following will be discussed.

1. The commission will hold second public hearings on the new official municipal logo and the revision of the Town Code chapter on Buildings and Building Regulation.

2. Commissioners will consider the consent agenda, which includes a vote on out-of-field teacher assignments at Oakland Avenue Charter School and water rate increases.

3. Elected officials will consider resolutions on the plan review fee schedule, building permit fee schedule and police officer/assistant town manager retirement changes.
