DECA in need of 1,000 volunteers

One thousand businesspeople from the Orlando area are needed Monday, April 24, to evaluate more than 19,000 high school students in one of DECA's competitive events.

DECA is in need of 1,000 businesspeople who reside in the Orlando area to help evaluate 19,000 high school students and advisors interested in finance, hospitality and tourism, marketing and management areas during one of the organization's competitive events Monday, April 24. 

DECA is a non profit student organization that focuses on preparing emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in the areas of marketing, finance, hospitality and management in numerous high schools and colleges around the world. 

According to a press release, "DECA members will compete against state/provincial finalists in one of DECA's 60+ competitive events based on industry and national curriculum standards. Students will compete in role-plays, case students and prepared business presentations in event categories such as Accounting, Integrated Marketing, Campaign, Business Operations Research, Business Law and Ethics, Entrepreneurship," among others. 

The event — DECA's annual international Career Development Conference — will take place at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando between April 22 and 25.
