The month of September is right around the corner and that means that National Library Card Sign-up Month is almost here.

As a result, the Orange County Library System is joining the American Library Association and libraries from all over the country to remind people to get their library card.

September has been celebrated as National Library Card Sign-up Month since 1987, to mark the beginning of the school year.

According to a press release, "ALA and libraries work together in a national effort to ensure every child signs up for their own library card."

OCLS has been serving the Orange County community for 100 years and still has much to offer to everyone who joins: "From borrowing books and DVDs, to getting your passport or help with homework, from learning new skills at the Melrose Center to attending a branch book club or storytime, your library card helps you do more of what you enjoy — without stretching your budget," said the press release.
