Orlando airport earns 'worst airport' status

According to Family Destinations Guide, Orlando International Airport (MCO) had the highest percentage of delayed flights in 2022.

Orlando International Airport landed at the top of an unfortunate list.

According to Family Destinations Guide, Orlando International Airport (MCO) had the highest percentage of delayed flights in 2022.

The guide used statistics compiled by the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, which reported 1,042,056 delayed flights in 2022 in the United States. According to the guide, 28.24% of all flights from MCO were delayed, 67.81% were on time, and 3.52% were canceled. MCO had 108,330 flights in operation in 2022; of those, more than 30,000 were delayed, the guide reported.

The second-worst airport was Newark Liberty International Airport, which had 26.51% of its flights delayed, the guide reported. 

In Florida, Tampa International Airport ranked fourth (25.48% flights delayed), and Miami International Airport ranked fifth (24.4%).
