The town of Oakland is working on plans to host a farmers market in front of the Healthy West Orange Arts & Heritage Center along the West Orange Trail starting in September. The market will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays — with the inaugural market opening Thursday, Sept. 14.

The town is partnering with Orange Blossom Market Co. to secure quality vendors offering fresh produce, specialty items, homemade food, and arts and crafts.

Live music will be featured on the porch of the heritage center on select dates. Two Acoustic Roosters, a rock, folk, pop, country and blues band, will perform at the opening.

Vendors selling handmade items are encouraged to apply by emailing [email protected]. For more information, visit oaklandfl.gov/1028/Farmers-Market.
