Pedestrian killed crossing S.R. 429

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the death of a man that occurred just before 2 a.m. Sunday, July 16, on State Road 429 in Winter Garden.

According to FHP, a 2022 Honda Accord was traveling northbound near Mile Marker 24, just north of Plant Street, when the driver struck a man walking in a westerly direction from the east shoulder of the road. The pedestrian, an adult male, was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver was taken to Orlando Health – Health Central Hospital with minor injuries.

FHP has not identified either person involved in the incident. The medical examiner’s office will update FHP once the deceased has been properly identified. The crash remains sunder investigation.
