Windermere High alumnus gets selected in 2023 MLB Draft

Carson Montgomery, former right-handed pitcher for the Windermere Wolverines, recently was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 2023 MLB Draft.

Windermere High alumni and Florida State University pitcher Carson Montgomery recently was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 2023 MLB Draft.

At 6-foot-3, Montgomery — who graduated from Windermere High in 2020 — has a career ERA of 7.50 in 66 innings.

His fastball usually falls within the 94-98-mile-per-hour range, but was averaging 93 miles per hour this past spring season. His slider usually falls in the mid-80s range.
