Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is recognized for stroke care

The American Heart Association recently recognized Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital for its stroke care and treatment.

The American Heart Association recently recognized Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital with the American Heart Association Get With The Guidelines - Stroke Gold Plus quality achievement award. 

According to a press release, the award recognizes "the hospital's dedication to ensuring stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines." 

The "Get With The Guidelines - Stroke" program is an in-hospital program that aims to improve stroke care by having staff adhere to its guidelines, which can ultimately help minimize the long-term effects of a stroke and even prevent death. 

"This award reaffirms our commitment to improving stroke care," said Amit Bansal, Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital chief quality officer. "We are proud of our dedicated team, who continue to make significant strides in early stroke detection and treatment, which is key to improving a patient's health and recovery." 

Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips has qualified for the award pertaining to high performance in stroke care for at least 24 months. The hospital also ensures to the following of treatment guidelines while the stroke care team educates patients to help with the management of their health and their at-home recovery.
