'Feeding Families' food distribution takes place June 14

Families in need in West Orange County can receive free food during a distribution session from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, at 848 E. Plant St., Winter Garden. 

This will be a drive-through food distribution, and volunteers will load the food items into the vehicles. Each family will get one box of non-perishable food, plus produce, bread and supplies.

No identification is required.

The food was provided by Kroger, Publix, Goya, His Compassion Food Bank in Ocala and The Freedom Tour in Lake Wales. The Southeastern Food Bank holds the "Feeding Families, Feeding Friends" events periodically around Central Florida. The last event served 1,300 families.

This food distribution is in addition to the three Food for Families events held each year in the spring and at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
