The Chick-fil-A in Hamlin has announced a grand opening date.

The event will kick off at 6:30 a.m. Thursday, June 15, at 15899 New Independence Parkway.

The American fast food restaurant chain is the largest chain specializing in chicken sandwiches.

In addition, the eatery serves up fan favorites including nuggets, waffle potato fries, salads and treats.

The location features a drive-thru, mobile ordering and catering pickup.

The restaurant will add 115 new jobs to the surrounding Winter Garden area.

The Hamlin Chick-fil-A joins more than 60 other restaurants serving the wider Orlando market.

Chick-fil-A, Inc. has selected Ron Florence as the independent franchised owner and operator of Chick-fil-A Hamlin.

Florence has served as a Chick-fil-A operator since 2017 in northern Virginia. Before joining Chick-fil-A, Florence spent 29 years as a United States Navy pilot.

As full-time, hands-on leaders in the restaurant and surrounding community, Chick-fil-A owners and operators reside in the communities in which they serve.

“I look forward to supporting my team members, as well as providing support for veterans and those in need in the Winter Garden community,” Florence said in a press release. “The Orlando area is a special place to me and my family. It’s where I was stationed for three years, where I met my wife and where we adopted our first two sons. We’re excited to return to this community and pour back into it, as it has done for me.”

In celebration of the opening, Chick-fil-A, Inc. will donate $25,000 to Feeding America in honor of the new restaurant.

"These funds will be distributed to partners in the greater Orlando area to aid in the fight against hunger," Chick-fil-A said in a press release. "In addition, Chick-fil-A Hamlin is recognizing 100 local heroes making an impact in the Winter Garden area by providing them with free Chick-fil-A entrées for a year."

The location also plans to participate in Chick-fil-A Shared Table, an initiative that "redirects surplus food from the restaurant to local soup kitchens, shelters, food banks and nonprofits in need," according to the organization.

To date, more than 18 million meals have been served nationwide from Chick-fil-A Shared Table donations.

The eatery will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
