Central Florida Expressway Authority causes main road closures

State Road 429, Florida's Turnpike, State Road 50, Ocoee Apopka Road and others will continue experiencing nightly or overnight closures until Friday, June 30.

Undergoing construction at the Central Florida Expressway Authority road improvements is causing main roads near or in the City of Ocoee to experience nightly or overnight closures until Friday, June 30. 

These construction zones are part of the CFX's State Road 429 capacity improvements Segment 2 south of the Florida's Turnpike to West road. 

These are the closures to keep in mind:

  • SR 429: single lane nightly closures are scheduled on northbound and southbound between Warrior Road and West Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Thursday, June 29.
  • Florida's Turnpike: nightly intermittent lane closures are scheduled northbound and southbound from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. until Thursday, June 29. 
  • SR 429 Ramp: the ramp from northbound SR 429 to northbound Florida's Turnpike at Exit 22 are scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Thursday, June 29. Drivers can take the exit that connects with Plant Street — Exit 24 — and follow the detour signs. Tolls for the northbound exit ramp for Exit 24 will be suspended while the detour is in place. 
  • State Road 50: intermittent lane closures are scheduled from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. until Thursday, June 29. 
  • Ocoee Apopka Road: nightly closures are scheduled to take place between West Road and East Fuller Cross Road from 11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m. until Thursday, June 29. 
  • Fullers Cross Road: overnight closures are scheduled from 11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m. until Thursday, June 29. Westbound rivers will be directed to Ocoee Apopka Road and eastbound drivers will be directed to Crown Point Road. 
  • SR 429: nightly single lanes closures between West Road and State Road 414 are scheduled from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Friday, June 30. 
  • SR 429 Ramp: nightly closures are scheduled on the southbound ramp from SR 429 to SR 414 — Exit 30 — from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Friday, June 30. Drivers will be directed to Exit 29, Ocoee Apopka Road. Tolls will be suspended while the detour is in place. 
  • SR 429: nightly closures between Tilden Road and Florida's Turnpike are scheduled from 8:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • SR 429: overnight closures between New Independence Parkway and Winter Garden Vineland Road — Exits 15 and 19 — are scheduled from 11 a.m. to 5 a.m. until Thursday, June 29. Northbound drivers will be directed to New Independence Parkway, Exit 15, and southbound drivers will be directed to Winter Garden Vineland Road, Exit 19. Tolls for both exits will be suspended while the detour is in place.
