The Healthy West Orange Arts and Heritage Center at the Town of Oakland invites individuals and organizations to participate in the town’s third annual holiday tree-decorating contest. Trees of the Season gives folks a chance to decorate a Christmas tree that will be viewed by area families this holiday season.

Trees will be on display at the Oakland center from Nov. 15 through Jan. 4, 2024, and will be a centerpiece of the Town’s Santa’s Lane community event, which draws thousands of visitors.

Space is limited; final selections will be determined by a committee. The deadline to submit is Oct. 25. Trees must be decorated between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15. Votes will be cast by the public starting Nov. 16, and an award will be given for best design.

Participants must provide one slim 7-foot tree, lighting and tree skirt (all materials will remain the property of the participant). Lights must be LED and securely attached to the tree. Power will be supplied for each tree. All decorations must be family friendly.

The entry fee is $25 (but free for nonprofits, municipal or government agencies and schools). For more information, contact Lynn Dattolo at [email protected] or (407) 656-1117, Ext. 2101.
