An immense fire has left a Windermere home badly damaged.

The house fire broke out around 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, on Oakdale Street and East Third Avenue.

No one was injured in the fire, but the house suffered massive damages and is uninhabitable.

The town of Windermere believes the fire was caused by golf cart batteries which were stored in close proximity to generator gas tanks.

The home at 316 Oakdale St. is owned by Colin and Nicole Ryan.

Ocoee Fire Department 39 was first on the scene and requested mutual aid assistance from several Orange County units.

Windermere Police Department officers have placed a watch on the home and continue to be on standby to serve the family as needed.

The WPD will keep the community posted on ways to help.

This is a developing story. Please check back for more updates.
