Concert will fuse jazz/rock roots

Pilars Martini & Loft will unveil the newest offering in Historic Downtown Winter Garden — Plant Street Pops — this weekend.

The first concert — Jazz That Rocks — will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday, April 28, at Pilars Loft, 146 W. Plant St., Suite 210, Winter Garden.

The show will feature Grammy-winning conductor/performer/host Matt Catingub and Grammy-nominated world-renowned drummer/percussionist Steve Moretti, along with the premier season of the Plant Street Pops Big Band under the direction of Grammy-nominated Per Danielsson. Local star Shannon Starkey performs on vocals.

The ensemble will perform some of music’s biggest jazz-influenced popular songs, such as “Peg,” “25 or 6 to 4,” “Turn Your Love Around,” “Saturday in the Park” and many more.
