The City of Ocoee has announced that it will open a self-serve sandbag distribution site for city residents on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Public Works Department, 301 Maguire Road.

This distribution comes for residents of the area to prepare for a possible Tropical Storm.

To receive sandbags, residents of Ocoee must bring a valid form of identification or city utility bill to prove Ocoee residency.

Each household will be provided 10 empty sandbags to be filled by the resident at the Public Works Department. City staff will provide residents with tools to fill their sandbags, however, those with their own tools — shovels and trowels — are encouraged to bring them.

For more information, visit the city’s Facebook page and Ocoee.org.
