The nonprofit Eight Waves, located in Winter Garden, is asking members of the community to invest in local children this school year by donating to the organization’s back-to-school hygiene drive.

Staff members are putting together Healthy & Happy Child Kits that include any brand of 10 shampoos, 10 conditioners, 10 body lotions, 10 deodorants, feminine hygiene products, and several toothpaste tubes and toothbrushes. This sponsors one child for a full year.

All items support local children in West Orange and South Lake counties. Eight Waves helps more than 1,000 students each month with their hygiene.

Donations can be taken to 1136 E. Plant St., Winter Garden.

Eight Waves invests in the lives of children, youth and families who live in under- resourced communities by working together and building the healthy support systems they need to thrive.
